Technology moves fast. Instead of typing and clicking away, smart marketers are getting more done with help from AI marketing tools. As you’ll soon learn, there are a ton of marketing tools out there using the power of artificial intelligence.

So, what is Surfer? It’s an AI marketing tool that’s all about search engine optimization (SEO). Optimizing your company’s content for search engines is how you achieve first-page rankings for all sorts of internet searches.
And ranking well in search engines helps ensure your company has a growing target audience.
There’s just one problem: manually researching search engine rankings and your competition takes a TON of time! Fortunately, you can use one of the top AI marketing tools to help you get the job done. That tool is Surfer.
When talking about Surfer, there’s a lot to cover. So, let’s break things down into sections. I use this tool personally under the Pro plan. So, to try and explain everything Surfer does, let’s look at how this tool works by section.
One of the most important factors when it comes to effective digital marketing comes down to keyword research. Target keywords that no one’s searching and you waste time (and money). If you target keywords that are too big for your business, it’s like being a fish swimming in an ocean full of sharks.
Start by throwing in the keyword or keywords you want to know more about into the field pictured below.
For this example, we’ll say that you’re using this AI software to find out more about the best social media tools. Type in this keyword, hit the “Create Keyword Research” button and in a few seconds, you’ll see a box appear below with your keyword. Click it and you’ll see this…
As you can see, this tool instantly gives you the search volume for your keyword as well as actionable insights about other similar keywords you can use. In a few clicks, you can add those keywords into your project.
Another powerful feature of this AI tool is Surfer’s SERP analyzer. This tool saves you a ton of time and energy on marketing efforts.
Using the previous example, let’s say that you’re searching for “best social media tools.” Here’s what you get after typing that term into Surfer’s SERP analyzer.
Instantly, this amazing piece of marketing technology shows you the URL of each competitor, as well as:
- Domain ratings (1-10)
- Surfer content scores (1-100)
- How many words each competitor writes
You can also learn about how many backlinks each competitor has, both to the URL and their entire domain. This is SO helpful when you’re doing competitor research. There’s a ton of more info you can dig into on this page. But, in the interest of keeping things a little bit brief, let’s move on to the content editor.
As from before, we’re going to use the keyword best social media tools. When you type that into the content editor search box (which I’m sure you know how to use by now), here’s what you’ll get after clicking the “Create Content Editor” button.
Pretty cool, right? Here’s where you can start typing in text the same way you would in a Google document, Word document, WordPress editor, or something similar. But that’s not even the coolest feature of this piece of marketing software.
Check out what you’ll see on the right side of Surfer’s Content Editor.
You receive exactly what keywords to type. These keywords are there (at the bottom) because they’re what your competition is using to rank on the first page of Google. What’s also cool is what’s at the top of the image above. That 5/100 is a score for your content that updates as you add words and images.
Best of all, Surfer uses natural language processing to use keywords that humans actually use.
Surfer’s AI system also shows you how many words you need, how many headings you need, as well as optimal paragraph length, and the number of images to add.
What about if you’ve already written content and want to know how it is performing? That’s where Surfer’s Audit feature comes into play. Surfer’s Audit feature can take an in-depth look at any URL, including both on-page and off-page SEO factors.
Here’s what happens after you click or tap the “Create Audit” button after entering best social media tools and either your website’s URL or the URL of a competitor.
Because it shows you a ton of potentially secret website info, I can’t show you the URL I’m using. But I can tell you that Surfer’s audit can show you a website’s:
- Content score
- External backlinks the top 10 results have
- How many words you need to write
- Internal link count
- The exact keywords you need in your content
- How many words to bold
- How many subheadings to use
- and MUCH more
Picture this: you just created a piece of amazing content. You read it over, everything looks great, and you post it to your website or social media page. Later, being so proud of what you wrote, you revisit this same page to find misspellings and grammatical errors! Oh no! How many saw them? You’ll never know.

One of the major platforms in the marketing industry is HubSpot. This company is full of masters of creating amazing marketing content. Another part of this company’s marketing success has to do with the amazing tools it makes.
Why Do I Need HubSpot?
If you’re remotely interested in AI marketing solutions, HubSpot has a ton of tools to offer. With HubSpot, you can power up some or all of your marketing campaigns with the help of artificial intelligence. Here’s a closer look at the many AI-related tools HubSpot has to offer.
Split Testing Your Pages
One of the most valuable things you can do for business growth is to split test your content. You can split test landing pages, advertisements, and much more. The purpose of these tests are to find out what versions of your pages are performing the best.
Having this data lets you know what helps you reach your goals and what pages need to go. Bonus: it also makes life a LOT easier on your company’s marketing team.
Marketing Automation and Easier Optimizations
Another one of HubSpot’s most beneficial marketing analytics tools would be its SEO scanner. All you have to do is provide a bit of information about your website and the machine learning algorithm goes to work.
Within a few minutes, this scanner will show you how to plan out a winning SEO strategy, give you topics to start creating content about, and much more!
Business Card Scanner
Is a business card scanning program going to help your content creation efforts? Probably not. But it’s cool. So I thought it’d be worth including. It’s pretty cool to see a business card you take a picture of get automatically inserted into HubSpot’s contact management system.
4. Hemingway Editor
Understandably, Grammarly gets a lot of well-deserved credit as a great writing assistant. However, I also want to shine some light on another intelligent proofreading tool.
This tool is called the Hemingway Editor. But don’t let the name of it throw you off, you don’t need a phone to use this AI-powered tool. Hemingway Editor works in a similar manner to Grammarly.
Why Do I Need Hemingway Editor?
The difference between Hemingway Editor and Grammarly is that the former is more about making sure that you’re text is easy to read. If you can write text that’s easy to read, it’s more likely to keep your reader engaged and on your website.
Hemingway Editor is a free tool. It’s more of a website, really. However, it’s still an amazing type of artificial intelligence that you want to be using. This AI marketing text checker works extremely well. You can either write text into this checker manually or copy and paste it from elsewhere.
5. Jasper (Formerly Jarvis)
When you’re creating content, it’s easy to find yourself running low on inspiration. If that’s the case, have I got an incredible piece of marketing software for you. It’s called Jasper and it’s one of the most popular AI-powered tools out there.
Why Do I Need Jasper?
Jasper uses the power of machine learning to help you create content. While the AI algorithms that Jasper uses are still in somewhat early stages, I’ll admit that this tool doesn’t turn out perfect content 100% of the time. But if you need help with content marketing and writing, Jasper is one of the best AI tools on the market.
If you use tools like Microsoft Word and Google Docs (or Surfer), you’ll be familiar with Jasper’s user-friendly interface. Jasper’s AI-powered features can generate all sorts of content, including:
- Blog content
- Social media posts
- Meta descriptions
- Web page copy
- Google ads and other paid advertising platforms
When you use this artificial intelligence technology, make sure you’re following along closely. I’m not saying this to trash Jasper by any means, I actually love using this tool! The genius minds behind Jasper will even tell you to fact-check alongside this tool as it works.
Another thing I love about Jasper is that it uses machine learning to write in just about any tone or voice. It’s wild!
Learn more about Jasper by checking out my in-depth article on the best AI copywriting tools.
