I honestly have no idea why this website bears this writer’s name. But, this website was recommended to me during my time spent writing for a major marketing company.
Since I received this recommendation, I use this website on an almost daily basis.
After visiting hemingwayapp.com, you simply copy and paste your writing into this website’s main window. This website works to spot and help you correct: passive voice, extensive adverb use, the ability to determine the complexity of your sentences, and much more!
If you’re anything like me, especially during my early stages as a writer, you probably heard about the importance of NOT using passive voice. Fortunately, the Hemingway App works to spot any instances of passive voice, helping to break many writers from avoiding these types of errors.
Tip 2: Manually Proofread Your Work, Every Time
This is a mistake that’s easy for more experienced writers to make. More often than not, new writers spend lots of time manually going over their work, which is an excellent trait to have. Unfortunately, many writers begin to feel a strong sense of self-confidence as they continue to make money from home.
After completing various writing projects, you’ll understandably begin to feel more confident in your work. However, this confidence sometimes means you’re tempted to avoid manually reading another article. If you’re anything like me, it’s a bit difficult to receive this feedback. However, learning about the mistakes you’re making is a great thing! This is one of the best ways to become a better writer at a rapid rate. Using the feedback you receive to improve also drastically helps if you’re working on finding a job quickly.
As a way to help me, I like to keep a spare document opened while I write with my latest feedback attached. In turn, this makes it easy for me to keep an eye on mistakes that I might have otherwise forgotten about.
